The winter of 2023 saw the NBA All Star Game brought to our beloved Utah and HLC was privileged to be invited to run a gifting booth at Elevate Sports Ventures 2023 NBA All Star Owner's Brunch during All Star Game weekend.
Held at Ember in Salt Lake City, with its gorgeous exposed brick and great vibe, the brunch itself was catered by Culinary Crafts, some of our favorite people!
The luxurious leather items we provided as gifts were a huge hit and the luggage tags disappeared especially quickly. HLC leathersmiths handcrafted each one; cutting them from the hide, oiling, edging and burnishing by hand, stitching and adding the final hardware. The styles and details of the gifts & monograms were selected by Elevate and offered to guests during the brunch. Throughout the three hour event, we personalized beautiful leather luggage tags, golf ball holders and golf bag tee tags with gold and silver foil debossing using our traditional heat debossing machine.
There is something fascinating about watching the personalization process, and we always draw a small crowd. As each guest gave us their initials or name, the letters were selected and placed into the type holder. Once the holder is placed into the head of the debosser, they quickly heat to around 250 degrees Fahrenheit. When pressed into the leather, the gold or silver foil melts into the fibers and leave a lasting monogram or personalization that will not rub away.
